Snap Inc presented earnings on Tuesday, after the bell. The shares rose in premarket trade after Snap disclosed in a regulatory filing that the U.S. Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission ended their investigation.
However, Snap Inc provided fourth-quarter revenue guidance of $540 million–$560 million, which was enough to send the stock south. The average of those two numbers is $550 million, which is below analysts’ average projection of $555.4 million.
Shares of Snap, the parent company of photo messaging app Snapchat, were down 6% at $13.18. They rose as much as about 3% in morning trade.
So, exiting early was definitely financially beneficial.

Where to now for SNAP Inc.?
It appears that Snap Inc has seen the government dropping a huge investigation that the Snapchat company had misled investors during its March 2017 IPO, and has now reported positive surprises for third-quarter EPS, revenues, average revenue per user, and daily active users.
When investors finally come to their senses, thenthe SNAP stock price should rebound as the market prices in a solid third quarter and rewards Snap for releasing modest and realistic fourth-quarter guidance.
