While better is definitely a subjective term, one benefit of trading options over trading stocks is the increased leverage that comes from being able to control the same amount of shares at a fraction of the cost of actually purchasing those shares.

Stock trading entails actually buying a part ownership of the company from which the shares are offered. Buying shares requires a substantially larger investment of capital than buying their corresponding options.
